Where the off-leash sand actually is

Noosa’s dog beaches sit just past the postcard strip. Sunshine Beach north of access 27, Castaways Beach between access 37 and 41, and Marcus Beach between access 43 and 46 are all off-leash at all hours under Noosa Shire Council’s rules. The famous Main Beach and Noosa Heads beachfront stay on-lead.

The Noosa Heads Doggy Beach below the National Park headland is the town’s dedicated sand, and Noosa Spit Recreation Reserve has designated off-leash areas on the river side.

When is the best time to visit Noosa with a dog?

March to May and September to November: warm enough for the beach, cooler sand, and outside the peak school-holiday crush.

How far is Noosa from Brisbane?
