First Batch Coffee Roasters

First Batch Coffee Roasters is a working specialty roastery and cafe at 2/8 Venture Drive, Noosaville, in the light-industrial pocket behind the river rather than on it. It is where Noosa's coffee actually gets made: house roasts like the Venture Blend and Noosa Blend come off the roaster on site, and the cafe counter pours them the same week. Hours are early weekdays, 5:30am to 2pm, 7am to 11:30am Saturdays, closed Sundays.

The dog setup

Dogs are part of the regular crowd here. They are welcome at the outdoor seating, and by regular accounts inside the roastery too, which is unusual for a food business and worth knowing when a Queensland summer afternoon makes outdoor tables a bad idea. Staff bring out water bowls, but carry your own as backup. The setup is informal, a counter and a few tables rather than a restaurant, so it suits a dog that can relax near coffee machinery noise.

Worth knowing

Beyond espresso and batch brew there are cold pours, drinking chocolates and seasonal infusions, plus almond croissants, sausage rolls and local bakery items in the cabinet. Alternative milks come without the usual surcharge, bags of house-roasted beans are on the shelf to take home, and you can order ahead through the Skip app if you are walking past on a schedule. Weekend visitors take note: the Saturday close is 11:30am and Sunday is shut.

Getting there and parking

Venture Drive sits just off Eumundi Road on the Noosaville side, about five minutes from the Gympie Terrace riverfront. Free parking is directly out front and the entrance is wheelchair accessible, which makes it one of the easiest coffee stops in the area with a dog in the car.

While you're out there

The Noosa River foreshore along Gympie Terrace is the natural pairing, a tree-lined water walk that is strictly on-leash, two metre leads, so keep the dog clipped the whole way.
