2026-05-02 Home ground: Tirhatuan on a Saturday The park we have visited more than any other: airlock gates, a busy water hole, and the strangely quiet lunchtime window.2026-02-07 Tassells Cove tops the list A tricky drive, sparse parking, and the clearest shallows we have found. NSW Sydney Harbour beaches with off-leash hours, the Cooks River and Parramatta parklands, and the pub-per-suburb density that makes a dog day out easy. VIC Melbourne Bayside off-leash beaches from Port Melbourne to Seaford, creek-trail suburbs in the north and east, and a cafe culture that expects a dog under the table. QLD Brisbane Australia's most dog-friendly capital: off-leash bay beaches at Sandgate and Wynnum, river parks, and cafes that put the water bowl out first. QLD Gold Coast Fifty kilometres of surf coast with dog beaches at both ends, canal-side cafes and hinterland walks under an hour from the sand. SA Adelaide Metropolitan beaches with dog hours from Semaphore to Sellicks, the Hills villages twenty minutes up the freeway, and cellar doors that welcome dogs.
