Cranks Creek Pathway

Cranks Creek Pathway follows a shaded creek corridor through bushland in suburban Tewantin, flat and well formed from end to end. Dogs are allowed on a lead, which Noosa Council requires here.

The walk

The path starts under a thick forest canopy and keeps much of that cover, so it stays cooler than most local walks. It winds past the creek, patches of remnant rainforest and the mangroves of Lake Donella.

The grade is gentle and the surface even, which makes it an easy stroll for older dogs or anyone pushing a pram. Watch the water for freshwater crayfish and the trees for birds.

Before you go

There are no dog water points on the trail and bins are few, so bring water, a bowl and bags to carry out. Park near the Nichols Court roundabout entrance or on the street near Freeman Court.

Heritage Park Tewantin is close by for another local walk, and Next Chapter Cafe makes an easy coffee stop.

The shade makes it a good pick on warm days, and the flat surface suits dogs that are slowing down.
