Lake Doonella Foreshore Walk

The path around Lake Doonella, much of it on the Cranks Creek Pathway, sits in Tewantin rather than Tinbeerwah. It is a sealed, shady walk through mangroves and rainforest remnants, with dogs on lead.

Lead rules

Noosa Council requires dogs on a leash in public reserves and on pathways unless you are in a signed off-leash area. Treat this walk as on lead the whole way.

The walk

Most of the path is sealed concrete, so it works for prams and in wet weather, with a few short unsealed loops. Tidal mangroves, creek banks and rainforest line the way, with glimpses of the lake and plenty of birds.

Overhanging trees shade long stretches. Water for dogs is sparse on the path itself, so carry a bottle and bowl.

Locals park in the street at trail junctions such as Outlook Drive.

Max: Low patches get boggy after heavy rain, and locals keep an eye out for council baiting notices. Read the signs and keep the lead short.
