Pet policy

Noosa Botanic Gardens sit on the shore of Lake Macdonald, a short drive from Cooroy, and dogs are welcome any time as long as they stay on a lead.
Lead rules
Noosa Council keeps the whole of the gardens on lead, to protect the plantings and more than 100 bird species.
The walk
A loop of roughly 1.8 km winds through about eight hectares of native and subtropical plants, on a mix of formed and unformed paths.
Along the way you pass a lily pond, open lawns and a Greek-style amphitheatre that looks out over the lake.
Water and shade
There is drinking water on site, and dog litter bags are supplied. Shady paths and scattered benches make it an easy summer walk.
Park at the main entry off Lake Macdonald Drive.

For an off-lead run, head to Kauri Park Dog Off Leash Area, then coffee at Fox and Hound Espresso.
Calm dogs that enjoy a slow sniff will love it. Keep leads short near the birdlife.
