Cooroy Caravan Park

Cooroy Caravan Park is a dog-friendly park geared to caravanners and campers, set around a small lake on the edge of Cooroy, close enough to walk to the Noosa hinterland town's main street. Dogs are welcome on sites, so this works if you travel with your own van, camper or tent rather than looking for a pet-friendly cabin.

Dogs at the park

Pets are permitted on the caravan and camping sites, not in fixed accommodation, and the park does not advertise pet-friendly cabins. All animals must be kept on a leash at all times within the park, and owners are expected to clean up after their dogs; leave mess behind and you can be asked to leave. There is no fenced exercise area on site, so a park stay with a dog means walking out the gate for exercise. Confirm when booking that your site type takes dogs, and bring your own bowls and waste bags.

Max: a leash rule with no fenced run means every toilet stop is a walk. Plan for morning and evening walks out of the park rather than letting the dog loose at the van.

Reviews describe a well-kept, working park rather than a resort: a camp kitchen, clean amenities, powered and unpowered sites, caravan storage and a small lake on site, with some gravel sites and coin-operated hot showers noted. Noosa Shire Council runs a designated off-leash exercise area at Kauri Park in Cooroy, a short drive from the caravan park, where dogs can run under effective control.

Getting there and parking

Cooroy sits on the Bruce Highway alternative route through the hinterland, about 25 minutes from Noosa Heads and 30 minutes from the Sunshine Coast airport side of the coast. You arrive with your rig, so parking is your site, and the town centre with its supermarkets and cafes is within walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

For coffee near the park, Fox and Hound Espresso is on the Cooroy main street, and Copperhead Restaurant Brewery is a relaxed dinner option in town. A few minutes south in Pomona, The Scullery Cafe is a solid stop on the way up the range.
