Copperhead Restaurant Brewery

Copperhead Restaurant Brewery is a boutique brewpub at 52 Kauri Street, Cooroy, in the Noosa hinterland, brewing every beer on site and serving an upmarket menu rather than standard pub fare. Dog access here is real but limited, so it pays to know the setup before you arrive: dogs go at the outer edge of the outdoor seating only, not inside and not through the main enclosed area.

The dog setup

Because the outdoor area is partly enclosed rather than an open beer garden, your dog needs to be calm and tightly leashed at a perimeter table while you slide past other diners. It is partly shaded, and you should bring your own water bowl. Seating at the edge depends on availability, so call ahead on (07) 5442 6975 to lock in a suitable outer table before you head over. This is a settle-under-the-table venue, not a run-around one, so tire your dog out first.

The beer and the food

The draw is the beer, all brewed on premises across a rotating tap list, with tasting paddles for working through it. The kitchen runs a refined menu built on local produce, handmade pasta and seasonal proteins, and diners single out the pork belly, scallops and parmigiana. There is a kids menu, and the beer tasting flights make it a proper destination rather than a convenience stop. Hours are Wednesday to Sunday from about 11:30am to 9pm; it closes Monday and Tuesday.

Getting there and parking

Parking is at the rear via the Pearl Street motel driveway, with free street parking along Kauri Street as well. Cooroy is an easy run off the Bruce Highway and works as a lunch stop on the way through the hinterland.

The Kauri Park dog off leash area on Sapphire Street is minutes away for pre-dinner exercise, and Lake Macdonald offers hinterland walks within a short drive.
