Copperhead Restaurant Brewery is a boutique brewpub at 52 Kauri St, Cooroy, brewing all its beer on site and serving an upmarket menu rather than standard pub fare. Dog access here is real but limited, so it pays to know the setup before you arrive.

The dog setup. Dogs are allowed at the outermost edge of the outdoor seating only, not inside and not through the main enclosed area. Because it is partly enclosed rather than an open beer garden, your dog needs to be settled and well-behaved at a perimeter table. The outdoor area is partly shaded. Bring a water bowl, and call ahead to confirm a suitable outer table is free before you head over.

Good to know. The draw is the beer, all brewed on premises across a rotating tap list, alongside a refined menu built on local produce, handmade pasta and seasonal proteins. Reviews single out the pork belly, scallops and parmigiana. Open Wednesday to Sunday, roughly 11:30am to 9pm.

Getting there. Parking is at the rear via the Pearl Street motel driveway, with free street parking on Kauri Street as well.

Nearby with the dogs. Cooroy has an off-leash dog park a few minutes away for pre-dinner exercise, and Lake Macdonald and the surrounding hinterland offer walks within a short drive.
