Cooroy RV Stopover

Cooroy RV Stopover is a low-cost overnight stop for fully self-contained rigs at 17 Mary River Road, on the edge of Cooroy in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Dogs are welcome, and the walk into town puts a main street of cafes and shops within reach of an overnighter with a dog in the van.

The dog setup

Dogs may stay overnight provided they are on lead whenever they are outside the vehicle, are never left unattended, and you clean up after them. There is no dedicated dog run on site, so the leash rule is genuinely the whole arrangement.

Worth knowing

This is a simple gravel stopover, not a full caravan park: only fully self-contained RVs, caravans and motorhomes are accepted, with no tents or non-self-contained campers. A dump point and grey-water collection are provided but there are no toilets, so your onboard facilities carry the stay.

The fee has historically sat around $15 per night and the stopover has been cash-only, with a maximum stay of about four nights commonly listed. Confirm current conditions and payment on arrival, and expect some factory noise from nearby industry at times.

Getting there

Turn off the Bruce Highway at Cooroy and follow signs through town to Mary River Road. The stop is walkable to the Cooroy town centre, which is the main draw over a roadside rest area.

Close by with the dogs

Into town on foot, Fox and Hound Espresso and Jamaica Blue both take dogs in their outdoor areas, and Copperhead Restaurant Brewery covers dinner. Note that the town's other caravan park does not take pets, which makes this stopover the dog option in Cooroy.
