Mine

Mine is a wholefood cafe in the Duke Street village square at Sunshine Beach, opening at 6am daily for the surf crowd and the dog walkers. Its shaded patio spills into the square, and dogs are explicitly welcome in the outdoor seating, which makes it a natural first stop before or after a beach walk.

The dog setup

Dogs on lead are welcome at the outdoor patio and street-side tables along the front of the cafe. The trees and umbrellas give real shade through the morning, and the open square layout means a settled dog has room without blocking foot traffic. The indoor dining room is off limits, as with most Queensland cafes. Bring a water bowl, since nothing on-site is confirmed.

What it serves

The menu is coastal wholefood and seed-oil free: sourdough toasties, poached eggs on croquettes, acai bowls, chia pudding, avocado toast and house-baked croissants and pastries, with organic coffee and matcha to drink. There are strong vegetarian and vegan options. It is walk-in only, and the kitchen closes at 1pm ahead of the 1:30pm close, so this is a breakfast-and-lunch place, not an all-day one.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Shop 6/48-54 Duke Street, Sunshine Beach, in the small shopping village behind the dunes. Street parking runs along Duke Street and the surrounding residential streets, and it tightens up quickly on weekend mornings, so aim early.

Beach walk first, coffee after

The off-leash stretch of Sunshine Beach runs from around Beach Access 29 northwards, with dogs under voice control and the national park headland off limits, so check the signage before unclipping. Sunshine Social Coffee Roasters is the other Duke Street coffee option if Mine's queue is out the door.
