Dog beach car park

This is the car park and access point for the Noosa Spit dog beach on Claude Batten Drive, Noosa Heads, the same off-leash riverfront strip locals call Doggy Beach. It is the practical way in: park here and the sandy inlet is a few steps away.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash along the riverfront dog beach section and must stay under effective voice control, which Noosa Council enforces. Keep dogs registered and tagged, off the marked bathing reserves, and off the dunes. The usual limit is two dogs per person.

Getting there. Take Noosa Parade past Hastings Street, then turn onto Claude Batten Drive; the car park sits directly alongside the beach. It is free but small and fills quickly on weekend mornings, so arrive early. Translink buses run nearby on Noosa Parade, leaving a short walk to the Spit. Several trees give shade and there are public toilets in the vicinity.

Weekdays and evenings are quietest. Visit at low to mid tide for the most sandbar, and keep an eye on currents after heavy rain or a strong incoming tide.
