The Scoop @4567

The Scoop @4567 is a retro ice cream parlour in Noosa Junction at 2/9 Sunshine Beach Road, doing old-school sundaes, thickshakes and local gelato with a 50s-diner feel. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating out the front, which makes it a natural end point to an evening walk through the Junction or back from the beach.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the casual sidewalk-style seating out front, on lead, while you eat. There is no pup cup or dog menu listed, so keep expectations modest and bring water on hot afternoons. Because this is an ice cream shop rather than a full cafe, visits are short: order at the counter, take a front table, and you are back on the footpath within minutes. Evening slots from 5pm Monday and from midday on weekends are the comfortable times for a dog in summer.

Worth knowing

The menu runs to hot fudge sundaes, banana splits, spiders and waffles, plus Maleny-made ice cream and rotating dairy-free sorbets, with gluten-free cones available. Hours run from midday or 1pm into the evening, closing around 8:45pm most nights and 9:30pm Friday and Saturday. Staff will confirm the outdoor tables are fine for dogs if you ask when ordering.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits on Sunshine Beach Road in the Noosa Junction strip, an easy walk from the Junction car parks and a short drive from Hastings Street. For a proper dog outing, the Noosa Heads Doggy Beach on the spit is the closest off-leash swim, and you can swing through the Junction for a scoop on the way home.
