Moriarty Park

Moriarty Park in Canungra combines sports fields and parkland with a gated off-lead dog area on the creek side, all against the foothills of the Scenic Rim.

Leads and the off-lead area

Scenic Rim Regional Council has fenced off an off-lead dog area. Across the rest of the park and sports grounds, dogs stay on a lead.

When matches are on, keep dogs to the outer edge.

The walk

Concrete paths and open grass make an easy circuit of the fields and parkland. The Scenic Rim Sports Dog Club also trains here.

Water and shade

Bins are on site, and mature trees shade the grass. There are water points, but bring a bowl and bottle for the walk.

Parking is next to the sports grounds.

Make a day of it

In town, try gelato at Giddyup Gelato Cafe Canungra or coffee at Cafe Metz.

It makes a good leg stretch on a Scenic Rim drive. Social dogs will enjoy the fenced area most.
