Extraction Artisan Coffee

Extraction Artisan Coffee is a boutique roastery and brunch cafe on the Pacific Highway service strip at Slacks Creek, and it is where Logan coffee people end up when they want something more serious than the mall cafes. It runs a small pet-friendly zone out the front, so the dog can come along, but you need to know the layout before you arrive.

The dog setup

The venue's own FAQ is unambiguous: animals are not allowed inside or on the main deck, but a couple of tables right at the front of the cafe, near the roller door, are set aside for customers with dogs. Those front seats carry some shade, which matters on a warm Logan morning, and they are the first to go on weekends. Staff will sort a water bowl if you ask, but packing a portable bowl is the safe move.

Worth knowing

This is a specialty coffee destination first: single-origin roasts, a proper filter menu alongside the espresso program, and a following that has made it one of the better-regarded cafes between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The brunch plates change often and lean creative, with a solid spread of vegetarian and vegan options. Because the dog seating is limited to a couple of tables, weekdays are the forgiving option; weekends from mid-morning are busy and the front seats can be gone before you arrive.

Getting there and parking

The address is Unit 7, 3375 Pacific Highway, Slacks Creek, inside a commercial complex just off the arterial, so watch your navigation on the approach. There is free on-site and street parking, which keeps the arrival easy.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-lead run before or after, the Mabel Park Fenced Dog Park and the Slacks Creek Off Leash Dog Park are both close by. The Daisy Hill Trails are a short drive south for an on-lead bushwalk that earns the brunch. If the front tables are full, Pour First at Springwood is another local option.
