Mabel Park Fenced Dog Park

Mabel Park Fenced Dog Park is the main off-leash facility for Slacks Creek, a fully gated grassy enclosure inside the larger Mabel Park precinct on Snowdon Street. The fence is the whole point: a secure, enclosed run where a dog can go flat out without you watching the road, which is not a given at every Logan park.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced enclosure. Everywhere else in the wider park, along the paths, near the sporting fields and around the playground, dogs stay on lead. Owners remain inside the fence and supervise the whole visit, clean up as they go, and leash up and remove any dog that turns aggressive. Logan City Council's standard off-leash conditions carry over, so keep your dog responsive to voice the moment it is unclipped.

The vibe

Inside you get benches to sit on while the dogs burn energy, partial shade from mature trees, and a water tap. Bags and bins are generally on hand, but carry your own to be safe. The enclosure sits beside the main Mabel Park facilities, which include toilets, BBQs and a playground, so the outing works as a family stop as much as a dog run. It is a local workhorse rather than a destination park, and the regular crowd keeps it social.

Getting there and parking

The address is Snowdon Street, Slacks Creek, a short hop from the Logan Motorway interchanges and an easy pull-in if you are passing through Logan on the way to Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Street parking fronts the precinct.

If the enclosure is busy, Slacks Creek Off Leash Dog Park is the suburb's second option, Ewing Park in Woodridge is one suburb over, and Alexander Clark Park adds a river setting to the south. Extraction Artisan Coffee pours the post-park flat whites.
