Alexander Clark Park Fenced Dog Park

The short version. Alexander Clark Park sits above the Logan River on Dewar Drive, and its drawcard is a fully fenced off-leash enclosure with separate large and small dog areas, agility gear, and a huge playground right alongside. It is the busy, well-kept community park most locals mean when they say the Loganholme dog park.

The rules. Dogs run off-leash only inside the fenced enclosure. Everywhere else in the park, including the riverbank walkway, they must be leashed. Keep your dog under effective voice control, stay inside the fence with them, and pick up after them. Dogs with a history of aggression should not use the off-leash area.

What is there. The enclosure splits into large and small dog sections, with basic agility equipment, water, shaded seating and bins. Outside the fence you get electric BBQs, covered picnic tables, accessible toilets on both the upper and lower levels, and a large playground next door. It is a genuine make-a-day-of-it park, not just a paddock with a gate.

Getting there. The park is off Dewar Drive, a short run from the Loganholme M1 exit, with a large free paved car park on site. Bus routes serve the wider Loganholme area, but you will have a walk from the nearest stop, so most people drive.

When to go. Weekdays are calmer, and early mornings before 7:30 or late afternoons after 4:30 dodge both the heat and the biggest crowds. Saturday and Sunday mornings are the peak. After heavy rain, give the lower parklands time to drain before you visit.
