What visitors mention
Daisy Hill Trails is the shared walking and mountain-biking network through Daisy Hill Conservation Park, a stretch of eucalypt forest south of Brisbane best known as home to the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. The trails themselves are open to leashed dogs, and the forest cover keeps most of the walk shaded even on a hot Queensland afternoon.
The walk. Expect a mix of flat, family-friendly fire trails and steeper forest tracks, with entry points off Daisy Hill Road near the Koala Centre and further access from side streets such as Davina Street. Distances vary by loop, so pick a track to suit your dog's fitness rather than assuming one standard circuit.
Leash status. Dogs must stay on a leash at all times. There is no off-leash area anywhere in the Conservation Park, and dogs are not permitted on the dedicated mountain-bike-only or horse trails, only the shared multi-use tracks.
Water. A few water fountains are dotted through the park, but they are inconsistent, so bring your own water and bowl for the dog rather than relying on them.
Hazards. This is active koala habitat, so keep dogs close and under control around wildlife, both for the koalas' sake and to avoid an unplanned chase. Bag and carry out all dog waste, there are no dispensers on the trails.
Getting there. It is roughly 20-30 minutes' drive from the Brisbane CBD, with large free car parks near the Koala Centre. Public transport to the trailheads themselves is limited, so a car or rideshare is the practical option.

Nearby with the dogs. Zhilin (Kiwa) cafe is a short drive away in Daisy Hill for a post-walk coffee, and Extraction Artisan Coffee in Slacks Creek is another dog-friendly option nearby.
Go early on a weekend morning or any weekday to avoid the car park filling up, and to keep the forest cooler for the walk. If the main Daisy Hill Road carpark is full, try the roadside access points before giving up and driving elsewhere.
