Sturdee Park Fenced Dog Park

Sturdee Park's fenced dog park is Loganlea's 24-hour off-leash option, a short walk from Loganlea station with separate yards for big and small dogs. The wider park around the enclosures carries a playground, basketball court, skate area, BBQs and toilets, so it covers the whole family in one stop.

The dog setup

Two fenced yards split large and small dogs, each entered through double gates so nobody bolts while someone else arrives. A water fountain sits inside for bowls, bench seating covers the waits, and trees shade parts of the run. Waste bags are provided at the gate, though a backup roll of your own is a sensible habit.

Off-leash applies only inside the enclosures, not across the surrounding park. Effective voice control is expected even within the fence, and an aggressive or clearly stressed dog should be leashed and taken out straight away. Declared dangerous or prohibited breeds are not permitted in Logan's off-leash areas.

Worth knowing

Max: the ground gets worn and muddy after rain, so keep a towel in the car if you are headed here straight after a downpour.

The yard surfaces take a beating in wet weather and the shade is partial rather than complete, so midsummer middays are best skipped. Saturday and Sunday afternoons and the after-work window from around 4 to 6pm draw the biggest crowds; weekday mornings and late evenings are the quiet stretches if your dog prefers fewer bodies.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Station Road, reached off Kingston Road or the Logan Motorway, with free parking right beside the enclosures. It is also an easy walk from Loganlea station on the Beenleigh line, which makes it a rare car-free dog park stop.

While you're out there
