Riverdale Park Fenced Dog Park

Riverdale Park Fenced Dog Park sits within the larger Riverdale Park on Evans Road in Meadowbrook, on the banks of the Logan River. It has separate fenced enclosures for large and small dogs, water taps, agility gear and shaded seating, and it is one of the better off-leash options in the Logan area if your dog needs room to actually run rather than a footpath sniff.

The dog setup

Off-leash access applies only inside the two fenced enclosures, one for large dogs and one for small dogs, so use the size-appropriate side. Both are securely fenced with shaded shelters, ramps and play equipment for dogs that want a workout, plus water taps and waste bag dispensers. Stay inside the fence with your dog, keep them in sight and under control, and leash up the moment you step out into the wider park, where the walking tracks are on-lead. The usual Logan City rules apply: carry bags, use the bins, and head out if play turns aggressive.

Max: Split fences mean the little ones get a proper go too. Watch the low ground near the river after rain, it goes muddy fast.

The wider park

The surrounding park is a ten hectare riverside space that turns a dog session into a family outing. There is a dinosaur-themed playground with a large climbing structure, picnic tables, electric and gas barbecues, public toilets, a floating gazebo over the lagoon and canoe launch spots on the river. A flat 2.7 kilometre loop trail runs through the parklands for an on-lead warm-up or cool-down, and it doubles as a Saturday morning parkrun route. Wheelchair-accessible parking and entrances are provided.

Getting there and parking

The park is at 110 Evans Road, Meadowbrook, with accessible parking near the entrance off Armstrong Road. Loganlea train station is a short trip away if you are coming without a car. The lower sections near the river can turn muddy after heavy rain, so stick to the upper paths in wet weather.

Close by with the dogs

The cafes around Meadowbrook Shopping Centre, five minutes away, generally welcome dogs at outdoor tables, including The Coffee Club Cafe - Meadowbrook.
