Nunyara Retreat

Nunyara Retreat is a private 11-acre bushland property in the Albert River valley at Wolffdene, roughly 40 to 50 minutes' drive from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with views toward Tamborine Mountain. The whole self-contained retreat is yours: no shared grounds, no other guests, and dogs are welcome to stay with you at no extra pet charge, provided you clear them with the hosts before arrival.

Dogs at the Nunyara Retreat

Pets are allowed overnight and the 2026 booking policies list no extra pet charge, but you must coordinate with the hosts before arrival rather than turning up with a dog unannounced. Weight and size limits are not published, so if you travel with a large dog, confirm directly first. The one firm rule: dogs stay on a lead when outside, because the property is home to koalas, wallabies and possums. Fencing of the grounds is not documented anywhere, so do not assume the 11 acres are a secure run. There is also generally a 3-night minimum stay.

The vibe

It is a proper house rather than a cabin: two to three bedrooms sleeping up to six, a fully equipped kitchen, a media room with Foxtel and surround sound, a large private deck with a gas BBQ and sweeping bush views, and a carport for two cars. The private walking tracks around the property are where the wildlife shows up, which is exactly why the lead rule exists.

Getting there and parking

Wolffdene sits between Logan and the Gold Coast hinterland, and a car is essential. The turn-off is off the Beaudesert Beenleigh Road side of the valley, and the carport takes two vehicles on site.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-lead run, Noyer Park Fenced Dog Park in Bahrs Scrub is only a few kilometres away. Luv a Coffee in Beenleigh makes a dog-friendly stop on the drive in, and Wickham Timber Reserve at Cedar Creek has longer trails if you want more than the property's own tracks.
