Rockford Park

Rockford Park is a fully fenced off-leash dog park on Coldstream Way in Holmview, tucked into a residential street with grassed sections, shade trees and benches. It has a reputation as a friendly, well-used local park where dogs and owners tend to know each other.

The rules. Dogs must be leashed on the way in and out, then can run off-leash inside the fenced area under effective voice control. Logan City Council limits handlers to two dogs at a time, and dogs that are aggressive or become a nuisance to other users are not permitted. Owners need to stay inside the off-leash area with their dogs and pick up after them.

What's there. The fenced area has secure gates, natural shade from established trees, benches for owners, open grass for running, and water points, though it is worth bringing your own bowl as backup. Bins are provided but bags can run short, so carry your own.

Getting there. The park is on Coldstream Way, Holmview, reached easily from the Logan Motorway or Pacific Highway via local roads. On-street parking runs along Coldstream Way, and Holmview train station is a short drive or moderate walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. Mister Q Cafe on Logan River Rd is close by and rated well by locals. Brookhaven Bean in Bahrs Scrub and St Coco Cafe in Daisy Hill, which has an outdoor terrace and puppy treats, are both worth the short drive. Motels in Beenleigh and Loganholme, ten to fifteen minutes away, sometimes take dogs, so check before booking.

Sunday mornings are the busiest stretch, with weekday evenings much quieter. Shade is limited once the sun is high, so a mid-morning or early-afternoon weekday visit is the most comfortable option in summer.
