Logan River Fenced Large Dog Park

The Logan River Fenced Large Dog Park sits inside the Logan River Parklands on the riverbank at Peacock Avenue, Beenleigh, and it is a proper fenced off-leash setup, not just an open reserve. The stand-out feature is the split design: separate double-gated enclosures for large dogs and small dogs, so nervous or tiny dogs are not sharing a yard with the boisterous crowd.

The dog setup

The large dog yard has basic agility equipment to burn off energy, while the small dog yard is a calmer, separate space, and both areas have water taps and sheltered seating. Logan City Council's off-leash rules apply: dogs should be recall-trained before going off the lead, leads and loose harnesses come off inside the double-gate entry, owners stay attentive with a leash carried at all times, and female dogs on heat, restricted breeds and unvaccinated dogs are not appropriate visitors. Bag dispensers and bins are provided on site.

Max: several regulars have reported small gaps under the fence line, so if your dog is tiny or a known escape artist, keep an eye on the boundary rather than assuming the fencing is watertight.

Worth knowing

The wider parklands make it easy to stretch the visit: public toilets, electric barbecues, picnic areas, a playground and a boat ramp all sit within the same reserve, with the Logan River running along the edge. Weekday mornings and quiet weekday evenings are the calmest times, with weekends busier as families and dog owners overlap. The riverbank and carpark can get soft after heavy rain, so factor that in before a post-downpour visit.

Getting there and parking

The address is 1-17 Peacock Avenue, Beenleigh, with an on-site carpark, and it is an easy detour off the M1 at exit 34 or 35. Beenleigh train station is roughly 1.5 kilometres away, about a 15 to 20 minute walk, so driving is the more practical option for most visits.
