Grove Road Reserve is a fully fenced off-leash dog park on Holmview Road, with separate areas for small and large dogs and plenty of open grass to run on. It sits right next to an active train line, so it is worth knowing before you go if your dog is noise-sensitive.

The rules. Keep your dog under effective off-leash control once inside, do not leave them unattended, and clean up straight away. Council-supplied waste bags are usually available at the gate, but it is worth carrying your own as backup. Use the separate small-dog area if yours is timid or on the smaller side.

What's there. The park is fully fenced with double-gated entries for security, has water points to keep dogs hydrated, shaded seating for owners, and ample on-site parking.

the train line runs close by, so keep an eye on your dog the first few times a train passes through. Most settle quickly, but a startled dog near a gate is worth watching for.

Getting there. The reserve is on Holmview Road, Holmview, with dedicated parking on site. Beenleigh and Bethania train stations are the nearest on the Queensland Rail network, though you will need a short trip or walk from either.

Nearby with the dogs. There is nothing to eat or drink at the reserve itself, but the wider Beenleigh area has cafes with outdoor seating worth checking for pet policies. Beenleigh Village Motel and similar motels in the area sometimes accept dogs, so call ahead to confirm.

Weekday mornings and mid-afternoons are the quietest windows. Weekends and the 4 to 6pm weekday stretch draw the biggest crowds, so aim outside those times if your dog prefers a calmer park.
