Albert River Fenced Dog Park sits inside the larger Albert River Park in Eagleby, right on the riverbank, and it is split into two fully fenced yards so small dogs and large or medium dogs each get their own space. It is free, open 24 hours a day, and shaded enough to use through most of the day.

The rules. Dogs must be under effective control at all times and owners need to clean up after them. Keep your dog in the correctly sized yard, small or large, rather than mixing sections. The off-leash area only covers the fenced yards, the rest of Albert River Park (fishing pontoons, BBQs, playgrounds) is on-leash.

What's there. Both yards have secure fencing and good natural shade. Water taps are on site, but several recent visitors have reported them running dry or not working, so bring your own water bowl and a bottle to be safe. The wider park has toilets, electric and wood BBQs, and picnic tables if you want to make a morning of it.

Getting there. The park is at 35 Distillery Rd, Eagleby. On-site parking is available, though the main car park can be a short walk from the fenced yards themselves. The site is considered wheelchair accessible.

Check the water taps before you rely on them, and carry a spare bowl. It is a small thing that saves a hot-day scramble.

Nearby with the dogs. Distillery Road Market is close by and allows dogs in its outdoor area and, at some tenancies (Perentie Brewing Co., Factory Direct Cafe), inside as well. Happy Dayz Cafe in Loganholme is a popular stop for a puppuccino on the way home.

When to go. Sundays and weekday evenings (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) draw the biggest crowds, while Thursday evenings and Friday nights are quieter. After heavy rain, check Logan City Council updates as the riverside ground can turn muddy. Good for owners who want a straightforward, size-separated yard rather than a big open field.
