River Hills Park West Fenced Dog Park is a quieter alternative to Eagleby's other off-leash yard, set along the Albert River with direct river access for dogs that like to swim, plus agility equipment for dogs that would rather work than paddle.
The rules. Dogs need to be under effective voice control at all times, even off-leash, and owners must pick up after them using the bins provided. The fencing is secure but worth a visual check for gaps before you let a dog off-lead. Make sure your dog is vaccinated and comfortable around others before using the off-leash area.
What's there. The yard combines open grass with shadier, more natural sections, agility equipment, seating, and water facilities. The wider park adds picnic areas, a shelter, BBQs, and public toilets, so it works for a longer visit rather than a quick stop.
The water. Because the fenced area gives onto the Albert River, dogs can swim, but keep an eye on tide and flow, especially after heavy rain when the river can run faster and murkier than it looks.
Getting there. The park sits on the riverfront side of River Hills Park West, Eagleby QLD 4207, with on-site parking. Beenleigh train station is the closest stop, about five to seven minutes by car, and the park is easy to reach off the M1 via the Beenleigh exit.

Nearby with the dogs. Distillery Road Market, a few minutes away, welcomes dogs in its Market Hall, outdoor entertainment area, and Perentie Brewing Co. Cool Beanz Cafe and Dessert Bar in Loganholme (about 4km away) is dog-friendly and known for free puppuccinos.
When to go. Weekend mornings and weekday afternoons bring the most visitors; mid-week mornings or late weekday afternoons are the quietest. Good for dogs that love water and owners who prefer a calmer park over a busier, central one.
