River Hills Park West Fenced Dog Park

River Hills Park West Fenced Dog Park is the quieter of Eagleby's off-leash yards, set along the Albert River on River Hills Road with direct river access for dogs that like to swim, plus agility equipment for dogs that would rather work than paddle. The wider park adds picnic areas, shelters, BBQs and public toilets, so it works for a longer visit rather than a quick stop.

The dog setup

The fenced enclosure combines open grass with shadier, natural sections, agility obstacles, seating and water facilities. Logan City Council's off-leash conditions apply: stay inside the area with your dog under continuous supervision and effective voice control, keep interactions positive, and leash and remove any dog showing stress or over-arousal. Carry waste bags and use the bins. Regulated dogs must stay leashed and muzzled under Queensland legislation. Give other dogs space on the agility gear and watch for resource guarding around the obstacles. The fencing is secure but worth a visual check for gaps on arrival, and make sure your dog is vaccinated and comfortable around others before unclipping.

Pepsi: a dog park with actual river access is a rare find. Let yours swim first, run the agility gear second, and bring a towel for the car.

The water

The fenced area gives onto the Albert River, so dogs can swim, but keep an eye on tide and flow. After heavy rain the river runs faster and murkier than it looks, and that is the time to keep swimming sessions short and close to the bank.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on the riverfront side of River Hills Park West at 189 River Hills Road, Eagleby, with on-site parking. Beenleigh station is the closest rail stop, about five to seven minutes by car, and the park is easy to reach off the M1 via the Beenleigh exit.

Close by with the dogs

Albert River Fenced Dog Park is Eagleby's other fenced option, split into small and large dog yards on the riverbank. For a change of scene, Alexander Clark Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive north in Loganholme. Weekends and weekday afternoons bring the most visitors; mid-week mornings are the quietest.
