Baroona Park Fenced Dog Park

Baroona Park Off-Leash Dog Area on Baroona Street in Rochedale South is the fenced section within the larger Baroona Park, recently refreshed by Logan City Council with new seating, shelters and an upgraded off-leash zone. It is a quiet neighbourhood park with open turf and mature trees, and the family playground next door makes it work for a combined outing.

The dog setup

The off-leash area is fully fenced, and dogs run free only inside it, staying on-lead everywhere else in the park including the walk to and from the gates. Logan City Council's conditions apply: recall your dog promptly by voice or hand command inside the zone, use the waste stations provided, and take off leads and loose harnesses once through the double-gate entry so nothing tangles mid-run. Females in heat and council-declared dangerous or prohibited dogs are not permitted in off-leash areas, and unvaccinated puppies are better kept out of public dog parks altogether.

Max: weekday late afternoons are the friendly shift here. If the regulars' dogs are mid-game, wait a beat before joining, the small yard fills fast.

Worth knowing

The council upgrade left the park in good shape: painted shelters for shade, updated drinking fountains and open turf suited to fetch. There are no public toilets on site, so plan accordingly. The yard is on the small side, which keeps it friendly for quiet dogs but means it fills quickly at peak times; weekday late afternoons are the busiest stretch and mid-mornings are calmer.

Getting there and parking

Baroona Street is a quiet residential road reached from Logan Road or the Pacific Motorway. Street parking runs along Baroona Street and the surrounding streets, with no dedicated car park, so allow a short walk at busy times.

While you're out there

Roundabout Espresso and Coffee in the Woods are both close for a coffee after the park, and Okie Dogie, a hotdog spot with outdoor seating, is a short walk away. For a second fenced session, Priestdale Road Fenced Dog Park is the other Rochedale South option and Underwood Park is the biggest nearby yard.
