Priestdale Road Fenced Dog Park

Priestdale Road Fenced Dog Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash yard at 537 to 553 Priestdale Road in Rochedale South, part of the wider Priestdale Park complex. It is a straightforward local option: double-gated entry, good tree shade, and enough grass and gravel for a proper run, though the yard is on the compact side next to the big neighbouring parks.

The dog setup

Dogs stay on-lead until safely through the double gates, then go free inside the fence under your supervision, staying within the enclosure at all times. Logan City Council's off-leash conditions apply here as across the city: reliable voice recall before you let a dog off, leads and loose harnesses removed inside the entry system so nothing tangles, waste into the on-site bins and bag dispensers, and no dogs that are declared dangerous or prohibited breeds or in heat. Unvaccinated puppies are better kept home. Bench seating, natural shade and a dog water station cover the comfort side, and waste bags are provided.

Max: use the double gates one at a time. It is a small yard that fills fast on weekend mornings, so a dog that needs space to settle does better arriving early or on a quiet weekday.

Worth knowing

The park is open around the clock. Weekday mornings and mid-afternoons are quietest, while weekend mornings from 6am to 8am and afternoons from 4pm to 6pm draw the biggest crowds. The grass and gravel mix holds up reasonably well but can turn patchy after rain, and the water station is worth a backup bottle, especially in summer.

Getting there and parking

The park sits directly off Priestdale Road and is easy to find by GPS. On-site parking is limited, so allow a few extra minutes at busy times. Translink bus routes serve the wider Rochedale South area, though most visitors walk in from the surrounding residential streets.

While you're out there

Roundabout Espresso, Coffee in the Woods and Pour First are all a short drive away for coffee afterwards. For more room to run, Underwood Park has large multi-zoned fenced yards nearby, and Baroona Park is the suburb's other recently upgraded enclosure.
