Pour First

Pour First is a small espresso bar at 41 Watland Street, Springwood, and it has earned its five-star Google average the honest way - sharp coffee, warm staff and a genuine welcome for dogs at the open-air seating out front. They pour puppychinos too.

The dog setup. Seating is footpath-style at the front of the shop, and that is where dogs are welcome. It is a compact spot, so a dog that settles under the table will do better here than a restless pacer. Staff are known for fussing over regulars' dogs, and a puppychino is on offer if you ask.

Getting there. Watland Street sits just off the Pacific Motorway in central Springwood. On-street parking on Watland Street and the surrounding streets is usually manageable, though the weekday commuter rush makes it tighter.

When to go. Mid-morning on a weekday is the calm window. Afterwards, Springwood Conservation Park is a few minutes away for an on-leash bush walk. Good for calm, social dogs; big boisterous types will find the footpath tight.
