Okie Dogie

Okie Dogie is a counter-service American hotdog stand trading from Kitchen Montagu at Shop 19, 549-561 Underwood Road in the Rochedale South Village centre. It is a quick bite rather than a sit-down restaurant, and its own social media shows dogs at the shared outdoor plaza seating, which is the only place a dog can be here.

The dog setup

Dogs on a lead can join you at the open-air plaza tables outside the shopfront; the counter area indoors is people only, as with any food-service setup in a shared centre. There is no dedicated dog water and no enclosed area, so bring a portable bowl and settle your dog beside you out of the foot traffic. One person orders while the other holds the lead.

Worth knowing

The menu runs to loaded hotdogs such as the chilli dog, Reuben dog and Philly cheesesteak, plus Cajun fries and loaded chips. Sessions have been evening-based, roughly 5pm to 9pm on Thursday to Saturday nights, but online listings have varied and have at times flagged the location as temporarily closed. Check the Okie Dogie Instagram or Facebook page before driving out, and ring the listed mobile if it still reads open.

Getting there and parking

The village centre sits on Underwood Road in Rochedale South, with free parking across the shopping centre car park. The plaza tables are a short walk from the bays, and evening visits after the dinner peak leave more breathing room for a leashed dog.

Baroona Park Fenced Dog Park is a few hundred metres away for a run before or after dinner, and Underwood Park Fenced Dog Park is another fenced option one suburb over.
