Sieber Wines

Sieber Wines is a small family-run cellar door on Seppeltsfield Road in the western Barossa, pouring handcrafted shiraz, GSM blends, montepulciano, grenache and fortified shiraz from the family's own fruit. Tastings are hosted by the Siebers themselves, and the mood is famously unpretentious: no hard sell, generous pours and dogs welcome on a lead outside.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor areas around the cellar door while you taste. The indoor tasting space is off limits apart from assistance animals. The setting is a working family property with a rustic feel rather than a purpose-built dog setup, so bring your own water bowl, waste bags and treats, and keep your dog settled around the family's own pets.

Worth knowing

Tastings are free and run at an unhurried pace, often by the winemakers themselves, which is why the reviews read more like recommendations from friends. The range stretches from the Ernest shiraz to viognier, rose and Old House grenache. It closes over the Christmas and New Year stretch, so check ahead for holiday-period visits.

Getting there and parking

The cellar door is at 82 Sieber Road, Seppeltsfield, reached via Gerald Roberts Road, about an hour's drive from Adelaide. Parking is on site right at the door. Hours are 11am to 4pm, seven days.

Close by with the dogs

The wider Seppeltsfield estate precinct is minutes away for an on-lead stroll between cellar doors, and FINO at Seppeltsfield serves the food end of the precinct. In Tanunda, Wohlers Cafe is a dog-friendly lunch option, and St Hallett Cellar Door and Winery is on the same side of the valley.
