40 Acre Retreat

The house sits on 40 acres with panoramic vineyard views and a big front deck for lounging, and it sleeps a family or group comfortably. This is a self-contained rental, so bring your own bedding, bowls and towels rather than expecting serviced amenities. Guests rate it highly, and the combination of space, view and an inside-allowed dog policy is the reason it books out.

While you're out there

Seppeltsfield Road is one of the Barossa's best dog-friendly runs: Seppeltsfield Wines welcomes dogs at the cellar door, and FINO at Seppeltsfield is a short stroll along the palm-lined drive. Two Hands Wines is also in Marananga. If your dog is not suited to a working farm, Discovery Parks Barossa Valley in Tanunda takes pets on sites and in pet cabins.

Before you book

Confirm the pet fee, any size or breed restrictions and the farm's current dog rules directly with the host, since working-farm policies can shift with the season. Best for a settled, livestock-savvy dog; not the fit for a chase instinct, and Tanunda is about seven minutes away for supplies.
