Cargo Road Wines is an unpretentious cellar door set in a working vineyard at Nashdale, a short drive from Orange. It is a relaxed, dog-friendly spot focused on cool-climate wines made on site, with lawns and vineyard views to settle into for an unhurried afternoon.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas overlooking the vines, with room to relax on the lawns or near the rustic cellar door. One heads-up: there is a resident kelpie, Mina, who often greets guests, so a dog that is reactive to other dogs needs managing on arrival. Keep your dog leashed; the vibe is casual, but bring your own water bowl and treats to be safe.

Known for. Cool-climate chardonnay, pinot noir, sauvignon blanc and unusual varietals, relaxed guided tastings with no time pressure, and grazing plates. There is also vineyard camping on site.
