Dogs can settle into the covered outdoor seating and roam the surrounding lawn and garden areas, on a lead and supervised. Tastings happen outdoors with your dog beside you rather than inside the tasting room, so plan for the weather. Water bowls are sometimes set out, but packing your own travel bowl removes the guesswork.

This works best for a calm dog that is content lying in the shade while you work through a flight. The grounds give them a sniffable buffer between you and the next table.

The vibe

The cellar door is known for chardonnay, pinot noir and sauvignon blanc grown on a high vineyard site, poured with vineyard views and floor to ceiling windows behind it. The feel is relaxed and unhurried, an easy stop on the Orange wine trail rather than a polished hospitality production. Cellar door hours run 11am to 5pm daily.

Getting there and parking

The address is 100 Shiralee Rd, a five to ten minute drive from Orange's centre. Parking is on site in the gravel area next to the building, so you can leave water and a towel in the car until needed.
