De Salis Wines is a boutique cellar door on the slopes of Mount Canobolas at Nashdale, a short drive from Orange. It is well known in the region as a dog-friendly stop, often with resident winery dogs on hand, and the high-altitude setting makes the outdoor tasting area the place to be.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the rustic outdoor courtyard and alfresco areas, on a lead. Indoor cellar-door access is generally limited to assistance dogs, so plan to taste outside with your dog beside you. The setting is informal and rural with plenty of room; bring your own water bowl rather than rely on a shared one.

Known for. Sparkling wines, pinot noir and chardonnay with a French lean, poured with relaxed, knowledgeable service in an intimate setting.

Getting there. 121-131 Loxton Rd, Nashdale, a short scenic drive from the Orange CBD. On-site parking.

Nearby with the dogs. Cargo Road Wines is close by and also dog-friendly, and Lake Canobolas is a short drive for an on-lead walk to finish the day.

Best on a fine day when the outdoor area is comfortable. Good for a settled dog happy to relax through a tasting.
