Canobolas Caravan Park

It is a caravanner and camper's park first: dogs are welcome on sites, but the cabins are off limits, so this is the right base if you are travelling with a van rather than booking a cabin.

Dogs at the Canobolas Caravan Park

Dogs are welcome on selected powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites, and are strictly prohibited in any cabin or cabin area. Ask for a pet-friendly site when you book so the park can allocate you correctly. On site, the rules are firm: dogs stay leashed or securely contained at all times, they are never left unattended, and they must not cause a nuisance to neighbouring guests.

Pets are not allowed inside any shared facility at any time, including the amenities block, laundry, camp kitchen and BBQ areas. Clean up immediately and put waste in the skip bins around the park, and note the booking terms rule that pet bedding and blankets cannot go through the park's laundry machines. No pet fee is published, so confirm any charge when you book.

You are a couple of kilometres from Orange's CBD, so restaurants, cafes and the city's cool-climate wineries are all close, while Mount Canobolas itself looms to the south-west with its walking tracks and orchard country.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Bathurst Road, the main eastern approach into Orange from Sydney and Bathurst, making it an easy stop for travellers heading across the Central West. You park at your own site, and the town centre is about five minutes by car.

Close by with the dogs

For proper off-lead time, the Bloomfield Reserve Dog Park offers expansive parklands with creek access, and the Ridley Oval Fenced Dog Park gives a fully enclosed run. For a tasting day, Heifer Station Wines runs a relaxed cellar door on the slopes of Mount Canobolas.
