Ross Hill Wines

Ross Hill Wines is a family-owned boutique winery on Wallace Lane, a short drive from central Orange, working out of a converted apple-packing shed at one of the region's higher-altitude vineyard sites. It is listed as pet-friendly on enquiry across the Orange region's dog-friendly cellar door guides, and the outdoor seating with vineyard views is where a dog fits comfortably into a visit.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas and vineyard surrounds, with the cosy converted-shed tasting space best left to people. It is a working winery and the pet-friendly listing is on enquiry, so call ahead on 02 6365 3223 and ask for an outdoor table when you book, and mention you are bringing a dog. Bring your own water and bowl to be safe, and keep your dog leashed and settled around other guests.

Worth knowing

The wines are the draw alongside the dog policy: award-winning cool-climate pinot noir, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc from a sustainably farmed estate, poured in a casual shed setting rather than a formal tasting bar. The cellar door trades 10:30am to 4:30pm, seven days, and there is an EV charging point on site.

Getting there and parking

The address is 134 Wallace Lane, off the Cargo Road wine route on Orange's western side. On-site parking sits close to the cellar door, with a flat, easy walk to the outdoor tables.
