Brangayne of Orange

Brangayne of Orange is a family-owned vineyard on Towac Way in Canobolas, with a cellar door set inside a repurposed old apple packing shed. It is one of a handful of Orange-region cellar doors that openly welcomes well-behaved dogs to the tasting area.

The dog setup. Dogs are allowed at the cellar door itself, provided they are well-behaved and kept on a lead at all times. Water bowls are common on site but it is worth bringing your own supplies in case. There is no fenced yard or dedicated dog area mentioned, so this suits a calm dog happy to settle at your feet rather than one needing room to roam.

Known for. Premium cool-climate wines, particularly pinot noir, chardonnay and sparkling styles, tasted in a genuinely rustic setting with views across the vineyard from the slopes of Mount Canobolas.

Getting there. About a ten to fifteen minute drive from Orange CBD. Towac Way is a scenic but narrow country road, so take it slowly. On-site parking sits close to the cellar door entrance.

Nearby with the dogs. Philip Shaw Wines and Ross Hill Wines are both close by and also known for accommodating dogs at their cellar doors. Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area has walking trails a short drive up the mountain, and the Orange Botanic Gardens are a good on-leash option back in town.

A solid stop on a Canobolas wine loop for a settled, leashed dog rather than a young or excitable one.
