Gindanha

Gindanha is a two-bedroom country bed and breakfast on a small farm in Borenore, about 15 to 20 minutes west of Orange, that takes dogs as well as cats. Between the alpacas, chickens and ducks in the paddocks, the caves down the road and the Orange wineries a short drive away, it is a quiet farm base for a Central West trip with your dog.

Dogs and cats are both welcome, with a cap of two pets per stay. The size rule depends on where you book: BringFido reports dogs of any size are accepted, while Stayz and Expedia listings cite a weight limit of about 25kg per pet, so confirm directly with the host if your dog is large. A pet fee of around AU$25 per pet per stay is commonly applied, though the amount varies by booking channel. Pets stay in the house with you; treat furniture as off-limits unless the host says otherwise, and bring your own bed, bowls and covers.

The place

It sleeps up to four in two queen bedrooms, with an open-plan lounge and dining room, a full kitchen with dishwasher and coffee pod machine, reverse-cycle heating and cooling, laundry and free Wi-Fi. The drawcard is the wide verandah and patio with an outdoor fireplace for evenings, and a seasonal country breakfast with locally sourced supplies. Guests mention the farm tour, the alpacas and homemade cake, and the property sits within reach of the Orange district wineries.

Getting there and out with the dogs

Borenore is a small locality on the far side of Orange, reached via the Mitchell Highway or Cargo Road, and there is on-site parking alongside the accommodation. The Borenore Karst Conservation Reserve is close by for an on-lead walk through the cave reserve, and Lake Canobolas Reserve is a short drive back towards Orange for lakeside paths.
