Veriu Collingwood is an apartment-style hotel at 25 Johnston Street in Collingwood's warehouse strip, with full-kitchen rooms, some balconies, and a rooftop pool and bar. A pet fee applies, with the current amount confirmed at booking, and restricted or prohibited breeds are not permitted.

Certified assistance animals stay free, though the hotel still asks for advance notice to allocate a suitable room. Treat everything except the assistance-animal rule as confirm-at-booking rather than guaranteed, and get the pet approval in writing when you reserve.

Max: the full kitchen matters more than it sounds. Dogs get kibble mess and wet towels, and having a sink, dishwasher and laundry in the room keeps the checkout conversation easy.

The vibe

It is an industrial-chic conversion that suits both short stays and longer trips, with modern rooms, guest laundry, bike hire and limited secure parking. Johnston Street puts Smith Street's food strip and the nightlife end of Fitzroy within walking distance.

Getting there and parking

The hotel sits on Johnston Street between the CBD and the Eastern Freeway, with trams along Brunswick Street and Victoria Parade nearby. On-site parking is limited, so ask for a spot when you book if you are driving in with the dog.

While you're out there

Ramsden Street Reserve in Clifton Hill is the closest off-lead run, and the Merri Creek Trail is a short drive north for a proper on-lead walk. Stomping Ground pours dog-tolerant beer garden sessions, and Quest Collingwood is the other pet-friendly apartment option in the suburb.
