BHIVE Beecroft

BHIVE Beecroft is a rustic cafe and restaurant tucked into the Beecroft village shops at Shop 4/1A Wongala Crescent, and it is the suburb's most dog-committed table: rather than a token front footpath strip, the outdoor garden area out the back is the designated dog space. It runs brunch and lunch most days with dinner sessions later in the week, closing Sundays and Mondays.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the back garden, leashed and well behaved, and the venue's own social channels spell out a few respectful rules along with the welcome. The main indoor dining room stays for humans and assistance animals. Staff will often bring a water bowl out to the garden on request, but carry one as backup on a busy service.

The kitchen leans into proper breakfast fare, eggs benedict, omelettes and crepes among the regulars, plus gluten-free options, a lemon tart that keeps regulars honest and dinner plates like pork belly later in the week. It is a quiet, leafy, village-square kind of setting, which suits a dog that prefers calm over chaos.

Max: ask for the back garden when you book. The front tables face the street and fill with prams, and the garden is the spot where your dog actually gets room to settle.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in the heart of Beecroft village near the library, a short walk from Beecroft Railway Station. Free street parking runs along Wongala Crescent and there is a council car park nearby, so it is an easy in-and-out with a dog in the car.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-leash run before brunch, the Cheltenham Snowdon Reserve fenced dog park is the nearest enclosed option, and Ruddock Park at Westleigh is another fenced favourite a short drive north. After the meal, Cafe Long Shot is the village's other dog-friendly coffee stop, and The Verandah Beecroft covers a sit-down lunch with the dog nearby.
