Snowdon Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Snowdon Reserve is a small, fully fenced off-leash park on Snowdon Drive in Cheltenham. At roughly 0.3 hectares it is compact, but the secure perimeter is the point: a safe space for a confident run and a solid sniff session without worrying about the road.

The rules

Keep your dog leashed until you are inside the fenced enclosure, then off-lead play is fine within it. City of Kingston requires owners to stay in the park with their dog, keep them under effective voice control, and pick up after them, with bins provided. Any dog showing aggression should be removed promptly. There is no strict numerical limit on how many dogs one person can bring across Kingston's off-lead areas, but a small space like this fills quickly if you arrive with a crowd.

Max: this one has a history of mud in winter. Bring a towel and check the ground before you commit to a muddy wrestle.

What's there

Secure perimeter fencing, drinking fountains, bench seating, an accessible picnic setting, waste bag dispensers and bins. The City of Kingston has been upgrading the site, with shade tree plantings, granitic gravel paths, low shrubs and surface work improving the ground that used to turn to mud over winter. It remains a simple, functional layout best suited to a quick secure session rather than a long roam.

Getting there and parking

The park sits at 5A Snowdon Drive, with street parking on the surrounding residential streets right outside the entrance; there is no dedicated car park. Cheltenham Station on the Sandringham line is roughly a 10 to 15 minute walk, which makes a train-then-park combo easy for locals.

When to go

Mid-week mornings are the quietest. Weekday afternoons between 4pm and 6pm and weekend mornings draw the local regulars, so if your dog prefers space, go early. In wet weather the ground takes a while to dry out, so expect muddy paws a day or two after rain.

Make a day of it
