Reg Marlow Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Reg Marlow Reserve's fenced dog park sits off Warrigal Road in Mentone, a secure, double-gated enclosure in the City of Kingston that suits recall training and dogs that need a safe space to run. Access is easiest off Oak Avenue, a short distance from Mentone station and the Nepean Highway network.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies inside the fenced enclosure only: leads go on for entry and exit and across the rest of the reserve, where a playground and an adult exercise gym sit outside the dog area. A water fountain with a dog bowl covers hydration, benches ring the run, and surrounding trees throw some natural shade over the fence line.

Dogs in Victoria must be registered with the council and microchipped, owners stay inside the enclosure with their dogs, and any dog showing aggression is expected to be removed straight away. Waste goes in the bins provided.

Worth knowing

Pepsi: the surface here is sandy and throws up dust in dry weather, and the council had upgrade works scheduled for around mid 2026. Confirm the park is open and not mid-renovation before you drive over, then check the gate latches on the way in.

The City of Kingston scheduled upgrade works at the enclosure, including surface improvements that replace worn turf with granitic material and new garden beds to help drainage, so the ground may look different from one month to the next. The council project page carries current access details.

Getting there and parking

Parking is off Warrigal Road or Oak Avenue, with Oak Avenue the easier approach and kerbside space along both. Mentone station is walkable for the car-free option. Quieter stretches run midweek at midday, while weekday evenings and weekend mornings bring the crowds; a calmer window suits a nervous dog still learning the gate routine.

While you're out there

If the enclosure is closed for works, Southern Road Reserve is the suburb's other off-leash reserve, and Farm Road Reserve Fenced Dog Park in Cheltenham is a short drive north with multiple water stations. For a beach finish, the Mentone Beach dog off-leash area runs along the sand nearby.
