Buxton Park Fenced Dog Park sits on Buxton Avenue inside The Retreat at Yarrabilba, offering a fully fenced, grassy off-leash area with separate enclosed sections for large and small dogs. That separation is the main draw: you can work on recall or let your dog stretch out without managing size mismatches. For a master-planned estate park it is well equipped, and it handles the estate's growing dog population better than most shared green space would.

The dog setup

Dogs must be supervised at all times. Clean up using the provided waste bags and bins, and if your dog shows aggression, remove them immediately. The double-gate entry matters: check that each gate closes behind you before moving through. Off-leash only applies inside the fence.

There are two fenced sections sized for large and small dogs, both on grass, with sheltered seating so owners can wait out hot or drizzly weather. Water stations are on-site, and waste bags and bins are provided.

Max: the small dog section runs tight at peak times. If your dog needs space to decompress, check the gate area before committing, because a packed small-dog yard defeats the purpose of separate fencing.

Early morning and late afternoon are peak periods as Yarrabilba locals finish work. Mid-morning to early afternoon is quieter. The small dog section fills faster than the large dog side, so time your visit around midday if your dog prefers room to move. It suits owners who want contained play without worrying about open-park recall, and the separation makes it easier for a rescue or shy dog to build confidence.

Getting there and parking

Turn off Larimar Avenue, which runs off Yarrabilba Drive, onto Buxton Avenue. Parking is ample near the adjacent playground facilities, and local walking paths connect to the park so you can add a lead walk either side of the off-leash session.

Close by with the dogs

For an on-leash stretch, the Logan Village to Yarrabilba Rail Trail connects directly into Yarrabilba and pairs well with a park visit. If you want a sit-down coffee afterwards, Cornerstone Cafe in Jimboomba is a short drive.
