The rules. Logan Reserve Fenced Dog Park on Riverview Road is a fully fenced, off-leash park with separate enclosures for small and large dogs, run under Logan City Council's off-leash rules. Dogs must be under effective control at all times, meaning they come back when called, and handlers stay in the park with them rather than stepping away. Leash up again before you leave the fenced area. Council caps it at two dogs per handler, females on heat are not allowed, and children under 16 need adult supervision inside the park.

What's there. Both fenced sections have shade, seating for owners, waste bag dispensers and bins, and a water point, though a few users note the water tap can be outside the small-dog fence, so a portable bowl is worth carrying as backup. Parking is on Riverview Road itself, with wheelchair-accessible spaces nearby.

Getting there. Head in via Logan Reserve Road, then turn onto Riverview Road, Logan Reserve. There is no useful public transport option this far into the estate, so driving is the practical way in.

Keep an eye out for cocklebur seeds (cobbler's pegs) in the grass edges, they catch in coats and paws, and check for ticks after a run through the longer grass near the fence line.

Nearby. Fitzy's Waterford and the Beach House at Loganholme both have dog-friendly outdoor seating a short drive away if you want to make a morning of it.

When to go: early mornings and late afternoons on weekdays are quietest; Saturday and Sunday, especially mid-morning, is when the park fills up, so nervous or reactive dogs do better on a weekday visit.
