Wattle Grove Community Dog Park

Wattle Grove Community Dog Park is a community-led, fully fenced off-leash park at 35 Lenihan Corner in Wattle Grove, run by the Wattle Grove Town Team with the City of Kalamunda's support. It is a simple, secure suburban enclosure: one big open space behind solid perimeter fencing, made for free running and neighbourly dog play rather than fancy build-outs.

The dog setup

The perimeter fencing is the whole point, so the gate protocol matters: close the gate securely behind you on the way in and out, and give the latch a check before you unclip your dog. Once inside, dogs run off-leash under effective voice control. Waste bags and bins are provided, so the clean-up rule is easy to keep. Any dog that starts showing aggression needs to be leashed and taken straight out, as with any community-run park.

Worth knowing

Because it is a community park, the standards depend on the people using it, and the regulars are the kind who close gates and carry spare bags. There is basic seating for owners and open grass for the dogs, but no separate small-dog zone, no agility gear and no water on tap, so bring your own bowl and pick your playmates. In-training and slightly anxious dogs do well here during the quiet slots, since the space is contained and the crowd is friendly.

The park sits on Lenihan Corner in the middle of suburban Wattle Grove. Street parking lines the residential streets around the entrance, and bus routes through the wider suburb stop within walking distance, though most visitors arrive by car or on foot from nearby streets.
