Harmony Fields Fenced Dog Park

Harmony Fields Fenced Dog Park on Alcock Street is Maddington's purpose-built off-leash facility, run by the City of Gosnells and widely regarded as one of the better enclosed dog parks in Perth's south east. Two separate fenced runs, high fencing and 24-hour access make it a reliable year-round option.

The dog setup

The park is split into two fully fenced enclosures: one for large dogs and one for smaller or more timid dogs, so a puppy can learn the ropes without a Labrador landing on it. Entry runs through a double-gate airlock on each zone, and the perimeter fencing stands about 1.8 metres.

Inside you get agility gear such as pipes and hurdles, water fountains for dogs and humans, shade trees and seating. Waste bags and bins are provided, and picking up is mandatory. Off-leash applies only inside the fences; dogs stay on lead across the rest of the grounds and nearby ovals, under effective voice control at all times.

Worth knowing

A free gravel car park sits beside the park, and an upgraded all-abilities playground close by is separately fenced from the dog areas. The grounds open out toward the Bickley Valley, which gives the place more outlook than your average suburban reserve.

Max: check both gate latches as you move from the car park into the fenced zones, and make sure the small dog run is latched before you clip the lead off.

Getting there and parking

The address is 163 Alcock Street, Maddington WA 6109, about 500 metres from Yule Brook College. Buses serve the surrounding residential streets but the park is easiest by car or on foot from the neighbourhood.

Saturday evenings draw the biggest crowds, with Sunday mornings occasionally busy too. Weekdays stay quiet, so a mid-morning weekday visit or an early weekend start buys you the most room.
