Beckenham Dog Park

Beckenham Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash exercise area on Railway Parade, close to the Cannington border and now folded into the Long Park precinct that runs along the rebuilt Armadale rail corridor. It is a practical, secure suburban dog park rather than a destination, and that is exactly what most locals want from it.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fully fenced with a double-gated entrance, so dogs cannot slip out while someone else is coming through. Per the City of Gosnells dog exercise rules, dogs must stay under effective voice control and you need to carry a lead for the walk to and from the park. Aggressive dogs are not welcome, dogs stay out of the adjoining children's playground and sporting fields, and cleaning up on the spot is mandatory. Waste bags and bins are provided, and there is seating for owners. Shade is patchy in parts, so on hot Perth days bring water and time your visit around the sun.

The vibe

Saturday mornings are the busiest stretch, with the regular local crowd; weekday late mornings and early afternoons are noticeably quieter, which suits nervous dogs. The park is open year-round with no seasonal closures to plan around.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Railway Parade in Beckenham WA 6107, with free on-street parking in the surrounding residential streets. Beckenham Station is within walking distance if you would rather come by rail, handy since the rebuilt elevated line runs right past.

Close by with the dogs

If the park is crowded, the Harmony Fields Fenced Dog Park in Maddington is the bigger fenced option further south, and Zoomie Land in Cannington serves greyhounds specifically. Kynd Coffee Co. is a coffee stop nearby in Cannington for the ride home.
