Zoomie Land (Greyhound Only) Fenced Dog Park

Zoomie Land is a small, fully fenced off-lead yard behind the Greyhounds WA Cannington track at 42 Liege Street, and it is reserved entirely for greyhounds. For a retired racer it is one of the few spaces in Perth where a muzzle is not required, because Greyhounds WA runs the site as a dedicated exception to the state's usual greyhound rules.

The dog setup

The enclosure is roughly 300 square metres of secure, grassed running space and it is free to use for any greyhound owner. Dogs must be registered, vaccinated and desexed, stay on lead through the gate, and stay with their owner rather than being left unattended.

No food is allowed inside the fence, children need close supervision, and an aggressive dog is asked to leave. There is a water tap on site, but shade and seating are thin, so bring a portable bowl and something to sit on in summer.

Max: check the closure windows before you drive over. The park shuts Tuesday evenings, Thursday mornings, and closes early on race days, so a quick check first saves a wasted trip.

Worth knowing

Access wraps around the track's schedule rather than ordinary park hours. Beyond the Tuesday and Thursday closures, the yard typically closes two hours before the first race on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

Early mornings and quiet midweek windows are the pick, and you will often have the run entirely to yourself. Confirm current times with Greyhounds WA before visiting because the schedule moves around race meets.

Getting there and parking

Enter via the Liege Street roundabout at the rear of the track, behind the Bunnings on Albany Highway, with parking on site. Cannington train station and the Albany Highway bus routes are both within walking distance if you are arriving without a car.

Close by with the dogs

If you also own a non-greyhound, the Queens Park Railway Dog Park and Beckenham Dog Park are both short drives north for a general fenced run. Kynd Coffee Co in Cannington makes an easy coffee stop on the way home.
