Kynd Coffee Co. on Cecil Avenue in Cannington is a small specialty cafe that rates among the most loved coffee stops in Perth, and it has earned its place on RAC WA's dog-friendly cafes guide. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor alfresco tables, so there is no need to leave your dog tied up on the footpath while you order inside.

The dog setup

The outdoor area is the dog zone: leashed and settled beside your table. Visitors describe the space as fresh, simple and quiet, which suits dogs who prefer a calm patio over a busy strip. There is no sign of a dedicated water bowl or treat jar, so bring your own water on a warm Perth morning and check with the owners when you arrive. Weekday hours run 7am to 2:30pm, Saturdays 8am to 2pm, and it closes Sundays.

The coffee and the menu

Espresso comes from Perth's Blacklist Coffee Roasters, and the latte art gets regular praise alongside the matcha lattes. The cabinet does the heavy lifting on food: the chicken avocado bagel is the order most people come back for, with almond croissants, coconut mango bread and gluten-free treats filling out the case. Made-to-order food means a short wait at peak times, but nothing out of line for a small cafe.

Getting there and close by

Cecil Avenue runs through the Cannington town centre, with parking in the surrounding streets and nearby lots, and Westfield Carousel is just around the corner. For a proper off-lead run before coffee, the fenced Wilson Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive south, and the Canning River Nature Walk is the scenic option if you want a river stretch first. On the cafe side, Social Manna up Albany Highway offers free dog biscuits at its outdoor tables, and Cafe Eighty2 is another East Victoria Park pick.
