Social Manna

Social Manna is a bright, community-minded cafe on Albany Highway in Victoria Park, pouring Diamantina Coffee Roasters brews over a hearty all-day menu, and it is one of the better dog set-ups on the strip: a dedicated pet-friendly patio, water bowls out, treats in tins by the counter, and staff who treat dog owners like regulars.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, not inside the main cafe, and the space is roomy enough to settle in for a full sitting rather than a grab-and-go. Water bowls are provided and free treats sit in tins near the counter. The house speciality is a lactose-free dog-a-cino topped with liver sprinkles. Dogs stay on lead and under control in the courtyard, which is an easy ask given the room.

The vibe

Old-fashioned friendly service backed by serious brunching: Turkish eggs with spiced poached eggs, the bacon and egg roll, smashed avo, Philly cheesesteak and sausage rolls, plus pastries, pies, salads and toasted focaccias. Dietary needs are well covered and specialty milks carry no surcharge. Free sparkling water on tap seals the deal for humans.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on the Albany Highway strip in Victoria Park. Free parking is at the rear via Mackie Street, up to four hours with no ticket; street parking on Albany Highway itself is capped at one hour, so use the rear.

Close by with the dogs

The Perth Foreshore walk is an easy drive away for a riverside stretch before or after, and if one coffee is not enough, Sonder Coffee is nearby on the same side of town.

When to go

Doors open 6:30am every day of the week and the kitchen wraps at 2pm. Weekday mornings are calm enough for the courtyard to feel private; weekends run a wait for tables, so arrive before nine with a dog in tow.
